Hello, I am new to web page design .... I have successfully made my page and it is up and running !! I am using Front Page to edit my html. I was using another counter, but it does not track, so I want to switch to whatcounter. I am a little unclear about what to do. I downloaded the pphlogger.js file to my desktop and then transferred it to my ftp site by dragging and dropping it on my ftp site where my index page is. Also there is a framed page attached to my index page that has links on it.

Now ..... I have tried to paste the html code in my Front Page html section at the bottom of the page before the last <body> ... when I preview it, this is what I see :

<!-- Whatcounter Code START -->
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="pphlogger.js"></script>
<noscript><img alt="" src="http://w1.whatcounter.com/pphlogger.php?id=immichle&st=img">
<a href="http://www.whatcounter.com">Free invisible hit counter</a></noscript>
<!-- Whatcounter Code END -->

It is not hidden ????? And I am unsure if it even works ..... did I do something wrong? How do I make it right with a visible counter? My settings page says my counter is to be visible.

Thanks and Blessings,
Michelle

hi michelle smile.gif

do you want it to be visible or invisible?

i just looked at your page and couldn't see the counter code, but from what you described it should work fine. If you put the code on again i can then have a look at it

I want the counter to be visible, I have not uploaded it yet because in front page preview and preview in IE, the code (html) is visible as above .... do you want me to upload it with it being visible? The html code will be visible .
leo
no need to upload it to being visible, ok you said you have ti set to "visible" in the settings now you just need to add one line to your code, which would be:

CODE

<!-- Whatcounter Code START -->
<script>showme='y'; st='js'</script>
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript" src="pphlogger.js"></script>
<noscript><img alt="" src="http://w1.whatcounter.com/pphlogger.php?id=immichle&st=img">
<a href="http://www.whatcounter.com">Free invisible hit counter</a></noscript>
<!-- Whatcounter Code END -->

add that to the page and then upload it, it should work fine smile.gif

It looks like I was able to get it to work ... I think, but it is not the font that I chose for the page. How and where do I change that?
leo
you can change the font in the userprofile section smile.gif
