Hello everyone, I'm new to the board!

The Latchkey Kids
The Husher

These are two webpages in my portfolio. Notice how when you navigate through the webpages, the background images are blinking/reloading, as if they're not in the cache or something. Each time you click on a different button, all the images reload every time.

Is there some kind of code to prevent this from reloading every time, or to force it to the cache, or something else?

I didn't have this problem before when hosting on my 'Canaca' web server, but I just switched to a Linux box running Apache, so I'm not sure if it could be an Apache value that needs tweaked or not.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Dan

note: the 'background' image in each website cannot be defined as an actual background-image because it contains the navigational button bar which utilizes an image-map, and as far as I know image-maps cannot be defined on a background-image.

Update/Clarification:

Actually, my old 'Canaca' server was running Apache and Linux as well. For some reason, after the switch to the new server it has just started reloading redundantly. Perhaps a value in Apache on the Canaca server differs from a vaule on my new server?

hey Dan welcome to weborum smile.gif

sorry but i don't get any background issues, is this in internet explorer or firefox you're experiencing this?

Thanks!

Sorry, yes. IE latest XP version, whichever version that is. I'm told the div layer scrollbars (overflow:y-scroll) don't even show up on Firefox! That's next on the priority list.

But for now, this image loading redundancy is pretty annoying.

works fine for me in IE:) change your overflow to just overflow:auto; smile.gif
