For those who haven't noticed, the mozilla update site for downloading themes, extensions, etc ( https://addons.update.mozilla.org/ ) hasn't had any activity for quite a while. The developers have finally released a statement today explaining what's going on.

It mostly revolves around the lead designer for the site stepping down (note: this is NOT Ben Goodger). They're going to do a lengthy assesment of what they have and try to start over again. It would be nice for them to finally get some forward movement on this. It's always been the bastard child of the project as far as I'm concerned, but an important piece for the future success of Firefox and Thunderbird.
