Fire effect, a very easy way of giving your text or an object some flames.
Open up a new document and set the background to black and type in your words (in white) ![]() Duplicate the text layer and then hide the original one by clicking on the eye next to it in the layers palette. Go to Filter - Stylize and choose wind ![]() apply the wind twice from the right and then twice from the left, you should get something like the following: ![]() now rotate the canvas 90º clockwise (image - rotate canvas) and apply the wind twice from the left, then rotate your image back 90º counter clockwise, you should now get this ![]() Go to filter - distort - ripple and apply the default settings Now go to filter - blur - guassian blur and apply the default setting. Go to image - mode and select greyscale, accept flatten image. Next go back to image - mode and select indexed color, then choose from the same menu - color table, from the drop down menu choose black body: ![]() Ok we pretty much have our flames now: ![]() Now change the image mode back to rgb and then type your text again, giving it a yellow outer glow from layer - layer style - outer glow ![]() this should be your result:) ![]() optional effect - shadow text, at end duplicate text layer, remove outerglow - edit transform - flip vertical, move it down with the move tool, rasterize the text in layer - rasterize - type, finally go to edit - transform - distort and distort it to get the desired effect -------------------- Get Tough - Take photoshop by the horns - photoshop tutorials
