thankyou
it's quite easy to implement it into different styles of design, it's only a little addition to a page but i think it adds a little dimension to it, here's a more business style i just threw together: ![]() you could easily sell a simple design like this for hundreds of dollars, and it takes next to no time to put together -------------------- Get Tough - Take photoshop by the horns - photoshop tutorials

QUOTE Now we need to give it a curl, because when a pages curls up it does just that, it has a curl not a straight edge. So we need the selection tool again but this time the Ellitpical marquee tool (click on the little arrow next to the normal selection tool and you'll see it here in the list), now try and recreate the image below by selecting the area and then deleting it okay, this is where i'm having trouble. whe i try to delete the selected area, it says.. this: am i doing something wrong?

Why have you given that layer a layer mask? Thats where your getting the problem, remove the mask and delete the selction on the actual layer itself.

i don't know. if i try to make a shape it adds a new layer and a layer mask itself. then if i delete the mask, the whole document becomes the color the shape was.

Go back a few steps
Create your shape, transform it and then click 'Apply' While still on the layer click on the eliptical marquee tool and make your selection -------------------- [http://www.joe2torials.com/] Your guide to (X)HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, Photoshop, Web Management, Accessibility, Standards, Semantics and much more...

you shouldn't be using a shape, to get the rectangle shape do as i did and create a new layer and then make a rectangular selection and fill it, otherwise you can rasterize the shape that you already have, go to layer > rasterize > shape.

Heres something else you can do.
when you are making the shadow, don't duplicate the layer and stuff. instead, go to: Layer > Layer Style > Drop Shadow (click on it) In the window that opens, enter the following values: Blend Mode: multiply, and the color: black (#000000) Opacity: 77% Angle: 164, use global light- checked. Distance: 18px Spread: 0% Size: 38px Contour - half diagnal Anti-aliased, unchecked Noise: 0% Heres what you get:
